Broadway piano player, 26, is caught in police sting after he 'arranged to meet a 14-year-old boy for sex on Grindr - who was an undercover cop'

A Broadway pianist has been caught in a police sting after allegedly trying to meet an underage boy for sex.

Justin Brown, 26, from Manhattan was arrested last week and charged with attempted use of a child in a sexual performance, attempted criminal sexual act, first-degree attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors and other offenses.

Police say Brown believed he was communicating with a 14-year-old boy on apps Snapchat and Grindr.

Brown allegedly responded 'nice' when he was told the person he was communicating with was only 14.

But the 'boy' was in fact an undercover police officer.

The undercover officer received a message from Brown via Grindr on September 2.  Brown allegedly responded 'nice' when he was told the person he was communicating with was only 14.

After asking to switch the conversation to Snapchat, Brown allegedly proceeded to send 'inappropriate' messages to the 'boy', including explicit photos and sexual messages.

After three days of communicating online, Brown allegedly arranged to meet with the 'boy' at an address in Queens, New York for sex. He was arrested at the location.

Brown allegedly had lubricant and condoms on his possession and allegedly confessed to scheduling the meeting with the child for sex, according to NBC New York.

If convicted, Brown could face up to seven years in prison.

Broadway Pianist Justin Brown Has Been Arrested For Attempting to Have Sex With a Minor

by Stephi Wild Broadway pianist Justin Brown, age 26, has been arrested for trying to have sex with a minor, according to the New York Post . Brown has worked as a rehearsal pianist for Dear Evan Hansen and King Kong. Brown began talking to someone who he assumed to be a 14-year-old boy on the dating app Grindr, when he was really talking to an undercover NYPD cop. He was arrested when he showed up to the Queens address with a backpack full of lubricant and condoms. His bail was set for $20,000 at Queens Criminal Court. Queens Acting District Attorney John M. Ryan said that Brown was "told numerous times" that the person he thought was chatting with was underage, and he still continued to pursue him and travelled from Manhattan to Queens to have sex.
